Below are some items that we’ve found make travel easier or more enjoyable when traveling with a baby.
General Items
Travel Stroller

This was an item I was hesitant on at first, but it quickly became one of our most used items. There are countless travel strollers on the market, but the two main features we looked for was the ability to fit in an airplane overhead bin and recline to a near flat position for sleep. The Ergobaby Metro+ Compact Baby Stroller satisfied both of our requirements and so far we have been very pleased with the build quality and function.
Travel Fan
To accompany the travel stroller, we purchased a generic travel fan to help keep Everett cool on warmer days. It’s also handy to have when enjoying patios!
Baby Carrier
Baby carriers are great for getting things done around the house, going through TSA checkpoints or navigating areas difficult for strollers. They are also great for hikes while babies are too small for backpack child carriers.

Ashley used the MABE Monarch Carrier while Everett was smaller and we transitioned to the Ergobaby Omni 360 as he got older for more support and breathability.
Sleep
Travel Crib
Travel cribs are a must have when traveling with babies. We purchased the BabyBjörn Travel Crib based on recommendations from family and it’s been great around the house, visiting friends or adventuring to new locations. It even packs up small enough to fit in checked luggage if you don’t want to carry it through the airport!
Travel Noise Machine
We pair a Hatch Rest Go portable sound machine with our travel crib to make bed time as smooth as possible.
Travel Baby Monitor
When traveling we use the HelloBaby Pan-Tilt-Zoom Video Baby Monitor. This is a no-frills monitor that doesn’t require a Wi-Fi connection, so it’s perfect for nights in hotel rooms or AirBnBs!
Bath
Inflatable Chair
Since we didn’t want to travel with our large baby bath seat, we bought a inflatable baby seat to use for bath time when on the go.
Bottles / Dishes
Sterilizer Bags
Doctor’s recommend to sterilize bottles until your baby is a year old. Since you can’t (or it would be difficult) take the countertop sterilizer with you, we’ve been using the Medela Quick Clean MicroSteam Bags. These allow you to quickly sterilize feeding equipment in a microwave and can be used up to 20 times.
Travel Drying Rack
Once the bottles, nipples and pacifiers are sterilized you need somewhere for them to dry. Enter the Travel Baby Bottle Drying Rack. This compact kit includes a bottle brush and packs down for easy transport.
Collapsible Sink
We use a collapsible tub at home to keep Everett’s dishes separate from our own. We didn’t originally purchase it for travel, but it’s since it collapses to a compact size, it’s been great for washing bottles on the go as hotel sinks are typically pretty small.
Cooler Bag
The Hydroflask Travel Lunchbox has been great for keeping bottles and breast milk cold while traveling.
Willow Thermos
In addition to the Hydroflask Travel Lunchbox mentioned above, we also purchased the Willow Portable Breast Milk Cooler. This small thermos style container has a built in ice pack that is able to keep breast milk cold up to 24 hours. In addition to travel, it’s great for mom’s who pump at work!
